We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Research Scientist to join our growing business of Holography Enabled Displays (HED) that meet the needs of advanced Head- and Helmet-Mounted Displays (HMD), Augmented Reality (AR) and In-Plane (IP) Head-Up Display (HUD) products. You will join a diverse research and development staff and help to support the prototyping and production of our new, cutting-edge products for our customers. Responsibilities

  • Design HED subsystems based on market trends and customers’ requirements
  • Perform detail subsystem level analysis of the expected subsystem performance
  • Lead the HED prototype development
  • Work closely with the internal production team to mature HED towards productization
  • Write proposals to the Government and Industry in the area of expertise
    Seek solutions for HUD, HMD systems and beyond

Qualifications

  • Ph.D or Master’s degree in the field of Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering or Physics
  • Experience in applied research and development of optics or photonic systems
  • Experience with optical systems requiring any combination of the following: imaging, illumination, physical optics, stray light analysis, radiometry, photometry, holography, or nano-optics, ray trace and wavefront simulation, aberration compensation is highly desired
  • Knowledge of optical design, modeling methods, and tools for imaging and illumination systems as well as tolerance analysis, including Code V, Zemax, Python or C++ programming
  • Hands on experience in Optical Lab, including hologram recording and reconstruction
  • Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional environment
